Soberanes Creek, Big Sur, California.
Located just above the contact point with salt water, this verdant creek bed immediately caught my eye. Initially, I struggled to compose with the dark overcast conditions and then decided to crop the horizon to create a sense of immediacy with the scene. Technical: Nikon 28-80mm zoom lens, shutter speed set to 1/2 second, F-stop 16. PLEASE NOTE, this image prints as a wide angle only with a minimum print size of 8x12 followed by 10x15, 12x18 etc. Contact Sahale Photo in advance of your purchase to ensure you receive a picture that mirrors the gallery image and to receive a correct price quote. A mile long horseshoe shaped beach of white silica. This is one of the world's great wilderness beaches and might be considered part of an extended isthmus divided from the main island by a granitic mountain range known as the Hazards. Eighteen years had passed since I had hiked this long trail into the southern Olympics. I had recalled a small but memorable cascade and thought I should revisit it for another shoot. Over that span of time, much had changed in the forest including the stream channel, since diverted into an impenetrable jungle of rainforest greenery. With that shot off the board, I noted the lighting conditions left a fine glow on the moss laden branches and figured my best options would be in one of the open glades that occur every few miles along the trail including this one. <br>Technical: Nikon 50mm lens.

Strawberry Points, Olympic National Park, Washington.
A more challenging portion of Olympic coastline than nearby Rialto or Sandpoint, this route requires attention to a tide chart and a willingness to ascend a very steep cable ladder and descend many fixed lines when conditions are wet or when the tides are partway in.
